    PSX

The unit itself is a little on the large side, but looks pretty sexy.

Instructions etc are in Japanese but the menu system is a breeze.

Setting up and ready to go took around 1 minute
Very impressive in terms of usability.

Menu systems are nicely set out and easy to navigate.

Ripping of music seems to be on the slow side though - at least as slow as the XBox, but the visualiser is a fairly nice addition.

Recording TV shows is incredibly easy
just tap record and away it goes
playing back is even easier, with a thumb nail of each movie you recoded shown under the playback tab in the main menu.

So - so far so good.

I assume the HDTV options will be through the D- terminal cable..

I was in a similiar position with my Wega LCD from Japan..

          Thats Sony for you..

Just saw this quote on playasia

You'll have to excuse me if this information has been banded about by the PSX PR gurus, since i missed that little detail.
            So is this true DCharlie?

hmm... there seems to be an option for improving the load times and texture quality, a la the PS2, so i'd be surprised.

I'll try this out tonight though.

              Thanks,
