    Motion Gravure (Harumi Nemoto)

Few titles come as intriguing as this, and with subject matter this titillating its not difficult to see why. It was the intention to cover this onsite, until it became obvious that this isnt a game per se whatsoever as its devoid of any real gameplay elements at all. What you do get is a interactive DVD featuring the (supposedly) popular Harumi Nemoto in various states of undress, and using the PS2 controller you are able to zoom in, pan round, manipulate or simply sit back and watch the rather attractive Harumi as she lies on beaches, beside swimming pools and at the lakeside amongst other settings. This is all backed by suitably fitting background music, whilst the ability to be able to print off images and view pictures from various galleries is also available. The most I could recommend this is obviously to fans of Harumi, or simply as some nice background imagery or scene setting (!) material, the initial fascination wont last forever.

Theres no nudity in this before anyone asks, and a Western release is remote. In the meantime Ive captured some footage for your perusal, enjoy.

Anyone know what Gravure means? Or why this series features only girls only huge breasts ?

The motion morphing is quite impressive, surely it could be put to better use...

Ah, guess the title really means 'motion photo', which makes sense.

Herumi Nemuto is the kind of girl that inspires a man to want to do push ups or use power tools. God bless japan! I got motion guavre but not the RCT eyes only.

Oh yeah the video is motion guarvre. Kudos to marcus for quickly resolving the cover issue.

Michel Gondry used the mophing thing to great effect years ago in his video for The Rolling Stones cover of Dylan's Like A Rolling Stone...

                    Yeah, spotted.

I was thinking of video games making use of the effect

                    I'm obsessed, you see...

Watching that video, I think it'd be interes6ting to see if it was possible to create a bullet time-esque sequence with the technology on show. A single pose could be photographed from several different angles and the techonolgy used to morph them together in order to fill in the gaps, as such, allowing to view her from any angle you desired

Not just a concept, Chief, but actually done. Real Eyes Play did that very thing. Using "bullet time technology" they made virtual 360 degree shots of the models where you can spin, rotate and zoom from all around the body.

I've seen a bit of behind-the-scene footage of the making of Real Eyes Play (by Pony Canyon). So Chief, they were thinking about you.

As for Harumi Nemoto, I've got that very copy on my shelf. True not a "game" per say, but rather an experience - which speaks volumes in regard to the Japanese market and their ability to create niche sub-genres off the home video game console.

In short, Japan has long ago surpassed the use of a home console as "only" for playing games. It's a portal for many other things. America is just now learning that lesson.....albeit, VERY slowly.

A title like this would never see the light of day over here. Even DOA Xtreme Volleyball (which featured a "game" in it) was harshly met by the console crowd. However......in Japan, DOA Xtreme volleyball is now looking to a Hawaiian version /upgrade.

Actually, that is exactly what bullet time does - only half the frames are actual photos, the other half are morphs apparently.

The simplified version of bullet time used for this (the Matrix version also involves firing the cameras at different times) is used all over the place, actually - Gondry uses it wonderfully in the Let Forever Be video for the Chemical Brothers too.

She is one hell of a beauty!

Shame she remains dressed though. On second thoughts maybe not, else Postman Pat would have sack loads to deliver here. Might break his poor old back eh? Hehe!
