    Favourite footy games pre ISS?

    I would nominate:

    SWOS (amiga)
Actua Soccer (PS) - great shooting system
Emlyn Hughes (C64) - one of the first games where you could kick the ball not in the direction of running

    SWOS by a mile (Amiga)

    Then,

    Kick Off 2 (Amiga)
    Micropose soccer (Amiga)
    Hatrick Hero (SNES)

Virtua Striker 2 and Super Sidekicks merit a mention

      Probably:

Total Football (MD) - this was the one where you started out with a team of nobodies and could add star players as you progressed, wasn't it?

Sensible Soccer - The old-skool master. Wonder how the remake will shape up

FIFA 94 (MD) - the first one. Wasn't bad for a laugh, even if this was pre-EA style licensing.

UEFA Champions League (PS) - not sure if there have been more but I'm talking about the very first one.

Funny how, as someone with little interest in football, I've played enough games over the years

striker. You could run twice as fast diagonally as you could vertically or horizontally.

And I can't remember exactly what it was called, but the Man U European game where it was viewed from side on. That was quality.

Sensi was clearly the best though

              Sensi on the MD.

              And also Super Formation Soccer.

SWOS, obviously. Even if it did make Abel Xavier one of the quickest and trickiest dribblers in the game.

                      Sensible Soccer/SWOS (Amiga)
                      Kick Off/Kick Off 2 (Amiga)
                      Emlyn Hughes' International Soccer (C64)
Gary Lineker's Superstar Soccer (C64) - first game I remember being able to score with bicycle kicks etc.

                        Microprose Soccer - PC
                        Kick Off - Amiga
                        European Football Champ - Arcade

Everyone's going to say Seni Soccer - but I always prefered Kick Off - right down to all the bugs it had. Like the way that sometimes if you conceded a goal kick, it gave you a penalty against your opponent at the other end. Special.

has to be my all-time favourite!

Dino Dini's Goal! I put in a lot of hours between Goal! and Kick Off 2.

Also Peter Shilton's Handball Maradona on Spectrum
