    N64dd

    hi

I was remembering an N64 accessory a friend of mine once had about 7 years ago. i looked it up and found the N64 DD. however...the DD is black, and what he had was white? it also looked a bit different...

i cant find ANYTHING on a white N64DD or any white accessory that fits under the N64.

all i know about it is that it took CD's and he said his dad bought it for him when he was in japan on a trip or something like that.

i remember the CD he had for it had many games on it, one was a tank game where you'd run around in a tank and play in teams and shoot eachother... the other was pokemon stadium in japanese (months before the english cartridge version was out i think)

this is the n64 dd: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nintendo_64DD

apparantly on ebay its worth a couple hundred dollars...and he had a WHITE one of these..which i cant find any mention of, so maybe ill try buy it off him for a few quid ..hehe

so basically, if anyone knows what this white thing was ..let me know

EDIT: looking into the 64DD more, it appears it did not actually take CD-ROMS as such.. it took these magnetic disk things like this: http://encyclopedia.quickseek.com/images/N64DD.jpg

and the white thing my friend had definetly took your run of the mill CD-R

so..the plot thickens... i guess it must be some third party thing only available in japan

Indeed that white unit is a pirate unit usually found in Hong Kong etc........playing roms off CD and also to back up your own carts to cd.

One of these no doubt http://www.emugo.com/vgp.htm
