    The mystery of Kenji Yamamoto

Well if you can all just take your eyes off my volleyball partner, Hitomi, for a minute (immaculately constructed by Stu).

Anyway, I was recently leafing through the manual for Metroid Prime and discovered the composer was Kenji Yamamoto. I was pleased that Nintendo had gone to the lengths of employing the same composer as in Super Metroid. However, I have to say that some of the music is very unlike what I would have imagined a Metroid title to use. That?s progress, I guess.

What's more curious though is where has the composer been all these years? Have there been other projects since SNES Metroid? How old is he? Was he brought out of retirement? Maybe he was hired just for this game? The whole thing is (IMO) pretty intriguing and I bet the real story of how he came to compose Metroid prime would make an interesting article in itself.
