Shame, virtually all the films I'd want from that list I already have. I did have a quick look though and from the photos on amazon.de it looks like Children of Men and The Good Shepherd aren't combo discs like the American releases. Any way of finding out for sure? I might re-buy those if as I prefer discs with a picture on one side

Indeed they are not, the only combo release in Europe from Universal was Smokin' Aces.

Incase you're a fan of lossless though, I'd just double check the European disc specs, as some titles lose their lossless audio here (Bourne Ultimatum and Mr Beans Holiday spring to mind) simply because they've shoved so many audio dubs on some releases.

But if thats not an issue (isn't for me, 1.5mbps DD+ is fine for my ears) then you can't go far wrong with the European releases. Most of my HD DVDs are from the UK unless they weren't released here or were delayed significantly, but likewise I have most the films I need in HD off the list already, the others I can hold out until they're ?3 in GameStation or whatever, though I am keen on nabbing Ran as I don't think that saw a release over here.

Nah, half the time I'm using Creative surround sound headphones and the other half on a very nice (but low end) Logitech 5.1 surround kit, so lossless or not makes no difference to me

I don't suppose any of these have forced subtitles? My French copy of Serpico has forced French subs when you select English audio. Good for learning how do to Al Pacino impressions in French though!

I think they're the same disc as the UK if they came out here, and so Children of Men and the like should have language selection at the start of the disc. There aren't too many forced sub films, normally it's the indi euro studios that force them I think.

So can us UK based people order these? Is the postage expensive?
