Saturn/MD2 Scart question

Hey, will a Saturn RGB Scart cable work on a Megadrive 2? Not sure if I want to shell out about ?10 for another cable

I think the pins going into the consoles are different, tried to use my scart in my md2 when i got it but it doesnt fit. (or i might be thinking of something else about 80% sure)

edit: yup the scart cable i have for my saturn doesn't fit into my md2.
