Roger Moore as James Bond, plus OHMSS

Are any of Roger Moore's outings as 007 worth bothering with? I'll always have a soft spot for his version of Bond as its the one i grew up with. However i now take my Bond much moore (groan) seriously, prehaps too seriously and dissmiss the Moore Bond's as crappy comedy capers but i now have all the other Bond films i want thus im looking in Mr Moore's direction for Moore (sorry) also is On Her Majestys Secret Service worth getting?

Live and Let Die is the greatest Bond film of all time.

Devil May Cry would be much better if they used the theme tune from Live and Let die, only with the lyrics changed to Devil May Cry.

Moore was my favourite bond too, you could say he was 'Premium Bond'

The Spy Who Loved Me, without a shadow of a doubt. Awesomely OTT and has the benefit of a fruity, funk-flavoured, non-Barry soundtrack.

I mean, I've only recently discovered that I've started to prefer Connery as Bond - but none of his Bond outings were as out there as the above.

Lol probably in the minority here but the two dalton films....i thought were just better films more serious

moore was Good but always felt his films were more tongue in cheek

Live and Let Die and The Man with the Golden Gun are great films imo. That's not just nostalgia, the deep south and Carribean seventies settings make the films.

I've also got a soft spot for The Spy Who Loved Me and Moonraker. The last three (For Your Eyes Only, Octopussy and A View to a Kill) are pretty rubbish though and are only really watchable in that 'had too much to eat and fall asleep on the sofa on a bank holiday afternoon' kind of way.

OHMSS is great, but completely unlike any other Bond film. George Lazenby is all wrong, but Telly Savalas and Diana Rigg are aces.

The Living Daylights is okay (despite the rubbish title), but the direction in Licence to Kill is shockingly bad. And I can't see how Bond avoiding a bazooka by putting the car on two wheels is serious. Dalton might have been more dour, but the action is still pretty silly.

Poor old George. I honestly don't think he's that bad.

I always found it a bit odd when people got all excited about Casino Royale featuring a Bond that was closer to the character in the books and more 'real' etc. when OHMSS had already done exactly that.

Lazenby comes across as being too 'nice' for the role. It's partly because of his model looks, but even when he's trying to be angry or upset, I just want to give him a cuddle.

It's also because unlike Moore, he wasn't given the oppurtunity to reboot the role for himself (and didn't have the benefit of following himself or the slapstick Diamonds Are Forever). He sort of feels like a supply teacher standing in for Connery.

Thankfully the rest of the film is great and his performance isn't offensive. It's just a bit......nice.
