Our new away strip is Blackburns recent (Current?) away strip reskinned. I hate Umbro (Except for the new England shirt, which is great).

I'm going to cheat here as it doesn't say football in the title and pick Stade Francais kit. I could pick pretty much any year and they're almost guaranteed to win this thread.

This is the 2009 kit.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v648/johnmorrisparry/sf03.gif

There's loads of them but I think these recent kits are more than enough.

Nice to see the Mags have offically adopted a yellow stripe down their backs now. Just a shame some of the sinking-ship-deserting punks who put them there can't take it with them.

Yeah that's not a great shirt. Anything other than simple straight stripes really tend not to go

There are some 'leaked' third choice kits for Chelsea floating around but they're of dubious authenticity.

I like our new home kit and am happy to see us go back to the traditional yellow away, but the sponsor is horrible. We have donated sponsorship to the local children's hospital, which is a great idea - just a shame the logo is so awful.

Too few teams put any real thought into how their sponsor logos/text look. I HATE our current logo with a passion. When we were without sponsor a while back (When XL.com went under) there was a group of fans that petitioned to get the Bobby Moore Cancer Fund on there while they looked for a replacement - not only was it a great cause, intrinsically linked to the club, but the mock-up looked great as well:

That was literally the ugliest sponsor logo idea I'd ever seen.

No offence to Bobby Moore!

Not a huge fan of our new home kit but it could be worse after seeing some other club's efforts! Yellow on white doesn't really go imo. It'd be better if they changed the yellow lines to blue, or, just made the top plain white all over. Don't like too many unneeded lines all over the place.

Marmite
25-06-2009, 08:53 AM
Its the puma logos on the shoulders i find most offensive. The yellow lines arent great either though.

Whats going on with the kit manufacturers this year? Its like they all sat in a room together and made a pact to release their worst shirts ever for the fortcoming season.

saif
25-06-2009, 08:59 AM
I quite like the Spurs kits - though yellow on white does not work so the 1st looks a little off.

I think the new Liverpool away kit is really nice.

Nike have just acquired Umbro. The company used to be owned by the Forest Chirman Nigel Doughty.

I like that England shirt. Wouldn't pay £40 for it if it's just a polo shirt with the England badge on, though

Jebus
25-06-2009, 11:34 AM
Where can you buy it for £40? Cheapest I've seen is £49.99! :O

I really like it...It looks really comfortable to wear because it's not the typical shirt type. They've realised you can't really go wrong with a white shirt, unlike Bolton's atrocities of the past two seasons.

Good news though, I like most of the Nike kits (United, Villa and Fulham). Hopefully it rubs off on the Umbro 'design' team (They clearly didn't use them for the England kit).

Jebus - You can get some nigh on identical replicas on the net for a fraction of the rrp.

The new Man Utd home kit looks a bit off. Thank goodness it'll be dispensed with at the end of the 09/10 Season.

EJG1980
25-06-2009, 12:42 PM
I'd like the Spurs top to look like the England top. Plain white shirt, Spurs logo, manufacturers logo, sponsor, nothing else at all. I'd ditch the sponsor too if there was a way for us to get a few million quid a year without one :)

Good news though, I like most of the Nike kits (United, Villa and Fulham).

Fulham's is the nicest one of the new kits I've seen so far.

Flabio

It's not a Newcastleesque abomination (way to add insult to injury there), but I'm really very disappointed with our new home kit design.
http://www.brentfordfc.co.uk/javaImages/cb/aa/0,,10421~6204107,00.jpg
It's the white stripe inside the red ones that's got a few people irritated, plus the resurrection of the thin black stripes and the fact that it looks like red on white instead of white on red. We will be playing Southampton this season, no way do we want to look like the Scummers.
Thank the club for saving me 30 quid coz I'm not buying that.
For reference, here is the superior 08/09 one (but don't watch dat 'collar') which I will continue to wear.
http://www.brentfordfc.co.uk/javaImages/c/fe/0,,10421~3669516,00.jpg
We also have a new away kit coming, which will hopefully not be an abomination. My money's on black with a yellow trim.

hudson

Not too bad. I kind of like the 80's style chequered pattern on it. I think Ray's lack of neck and carnival head makes it look worse. Oh and the sponsor looks like it says sorbet at a glance and is a bit big.

Number45
13-07-2009, 08:29 AM
Yeah the sponsor is still far too large, although at least now they've removed the unnecessary backing from it. I don't like the chequer, the collar, the shape, the blue rings around the arms/shoulder... or the way it's being modeled.

I wanted something simple. :(

Think I'll see what the training kit is like, maybe that will be better.

vertigo
13-07-2009, 05:19 PM
I've seen the Brentford one in real life now, mate was wearing it on Saturday. It's better on than in a picture, but the red's a lot darker than it is in that pic, halfway between red and burgundy if that makes sense, and there's still far too much white. It looks like the kit of another team. The away one is apparently a black affair, so I might get that or just keep last season's good home kit and light blue away coz I was popular in that :D

I actually think that away kit doesn't look too bad, although it might suit to be a bit more purple. The renders on their site look miles better than the real thing, as is usually the case. Not sure about having the badge in the same colour as the stripes.
By the way... my Brentford's away kit which probably get the same "not buying" treatment as the new home one, it's all a bit champion boxer, isn't it?
