John From Cincinnati - HBO series

Just noticed this is coming to dvd this month in the UK.

I picked it up last year on R1 and expected to love it ...

David Milch, tired old costal town, three generations of surfers and a stranger ... sounded potentially very good.

Thing about John From Cincinnati is I did love most of it ... but found the small horror element a bit jarring and downbeat. I also found it overly strange at times (it's way more bonkers than Twin Peaks).

Strange show indeed ... but strangely watchable.

Anyone else see it?

Yes, wow I was surprised to see a thread on this show. I watched it a couple of years ago and loved it. It is very strange and fresh. Some episodes nothing really happens, and yet it was highly watchable. I was very disappointed when it was cancelled after one season. Though not surprised.
