By using MyFitnessPal I've been able to keep track of what I'm consuming and that's been a really powerful way of staying motivated. "I cannot go above this number".
I've not had a bag of crisps since I started this. I've reduced my bread and milk intake considerably too.
Also, I'm not having 3 - 4 coffees a day! That's a huge deal for me.

That’s superb! And cutting out the crisps is great. What I found was that particular things can make a huge difference. One of the things that sparked off the idea that I could actually have more control over my health and physical shape happened some years ago pretty much by accident. I dropped weight in a short space of time seemingly doing nothing. I actually thought it might be a serious health issue but it then stopped and levelled off. But I eventually worked out what had happened - I had been working from home and, as a result, had cut out two lattes a day which I had been getting when I worked in an office. Doing nothing else, that alone brought my weight down.
So when I then started to run and try to get healthier, while my diet isn’t great at all being honest, I knew that there were certain things in my diet I could control and even just managing a few things like that made a big difference.
Well done on that progress!

Had last week off work and did loads of walking. Was nice to get out with my wife and the Nancy (Harry still went to nursery).
Back at work now and it's just so draining sitting in the car most of the day.
I'm starting to believe that finding alternative employment would really help me.

I’m currently running 14.5 mile every Saturday morning (for the last couple of months). Go out real early around 6am, before the air warms up.
I can go further I feel (body wise), but physiologically I just want to get it over and done with. I imagine having a running partner would alleviate that tho’.
Signed up for my first Fell run, which is in November at Moel Famau. It’s ‘only’ 10k, so a nice distance for me to see if I like doing them. Just need to buy some appropriate footwear now.

Not helping myself really, need to address it rather than putting it off.
As an aside, what are you eating to maintain your body weight Charles?
