That is a big box. Speaking of old things, i decided to finally watch Serial Experiments Lain which i bought on dvd many years ago but never watched, done with the first episode and that is a mighty strange show and i get feeling it will never explain itself.
Also watched Godzilla: monster planet, which is very boring which is a shame as the set up is pretty interesting but between the poor CGI, dull action and unlikeable characters i won't be back for part 2 or 3.
As for the new season Sora yori mo Tooi Basho is still my favorite, if it carries on being this good it'll easily make my top 10 of all time. Ep4 scene with Mari having to finally tell her parents what she's being keeping secret is alot of fun. The rest of the season is pretty strong as well with 3-gatsu no Lion(continuation), Yuru Camp, Franxx, After the rain and Evergarden, followed by some decent shows like Koizumi love Ramen, Overlord s2. So good amount to watch till spring.

I really like the character design and Haibane Renmei is one of my favorite anime series which Yo****oshi ABe also created.
I still get mixed up with him and Range Murata who's character designs are similar but I own an art book of of and it is just GORGEOUS!
Shame it smells a bit musty from being second hand but it's my favorite art book I own.

Unfortunately when I find a random volume of manga/ art book that I want to trace I tend to find I have expensive tastes!
Still looking for my missing Black Jack volumes (start from around £60) for under £25 each. If it was just about reading them I could get the manga cheap on kindle but I want the books.

Have to keep singing the praises of Sora yori mo Tooi Basho, such damn good show, lots of positive vibes, i probably have to think back to K-on or Tamayura where i gave a damn about all the main characters in a Slice of Life, and with the added bonus of an actual progressing plot(the goal of somehow going to antarctica) making it more engrossing which is super rare for SoLs.
Ep5 giving us much needed growth for Himari (the PoV for us the viewer in the story), and while i was expecting some sort of drama which as been building between her and Megu (secondary character and childhood friend) i didn't expect the send off to be such a emotional fair,
it was quite understandable what Megu did with the jealousy and feeling worthless giver her a crab bucket mentality when a close friend seemingly leaves you behind to go on to do better things.

That and I love anything to do with mythical/ fairytail/ yokai creatures (which makes it a bit strange that I have never seen Fantastic Beasts) is always an interest for me.Last edited by Paddy; 31-01-2018, 10:29.

Boa are a fantastic band!
Jasmine has a beautiful voice. I have their albums Twilight (duvet is on that) and Get There.
It's a shame their output hasn't been more prolific.
Anime wise - I've been toying with subscribing to CrunchyRoll again. A few years back I was heavily into the fansub / torrent scene but I can't be bothered with that anymore.
I've got plenty of old stuff to watch before even considering new but is it worth a CR sub?

I still pay for CR(£5 a month) but still use BT over it aside from slowly watching Gintama and getting a few manga they recently got like Grand Blue... but with netflix paying for their own shows recently you won't get everything (Relife, Violet EverGarden, Devilman to name a recent few), and i think they still don't have One Piece which isn't a problem as the anime be rubbish for years now.

Small update on what i've watching.
More 3-gatsu no Lion, it had taken break around ep37 over Jan/Feb and now it's back with a fantastic little arc for the old timer, that somehow betters Hina bullying stuff which i didn't think they could top. Yet again they take a side character, and give us their motivations and a little backstory pinning up the brilliant art direction and animation which really gives VEG and Slow Start, two very impressive shows on the animation techniques and art front this season a run for their money.
AICO, 1-12eps - a netflix funded show and another one where they dump the entire season in one go... not sure i'm a fan of that as you don't many talking about show if comes and goes without that weeks wait in between. Nice little modern day sci-fi show about a team of divers (power suited treasure hunters) tasked with escorting an person to deepest and most dangerous place in the "blast zone" where divers go to hunt lost technology in amongst some living biohzard/cancer like mutations. It's a decent adventure which keeps you on your toes with who lives or dies, and enough mystery around the plot to keep you coming back for more, although the first twist is pretty predictable they keep the others secrets well hidden.
Apart from that Sora yori mo Tooi Basho is still my favorite from this season, followed by yuru camp, VEG, PopTeam and Slow Start.

Sora yori mo Tooi Basho ep12 - they build up an emotional episode between girls struggling to help Shirase and a bit of light hearted skits as they travel out to the last place Shirase mum was alive. And that ending
when she gets the laptop working and the emails she's sent holding on to that glimmer Tako might still be alive start loading in unread, following by the wailing cry of acceptance and other girls outside unable to help
Hope the last episode gets abit more upbeat, either way what a great show.
Spring season 2 weeks away with some heavy hitters coming
Full Metal Panic sequel
Legend of galactic Heroes remake
Golden Hamuy
Steins;Gate Zero
Tokyo Ghoul Re
SAO side story
Fist of the North Star prequel
Shokugeki no Souma s3 (cour 2)
My Hero Academy S3
Amanchu S2
