Meanwhile they are issuing another $2billion in junk bonds, increasing their huge debt to fund new content. Yes, this is pretty much how all ‘disrupters’ work, throwing huge sums of money at a market until they have eaten it and raising fortunes in investment rather than actually being profitable, but it’s just another reminder that the Netflix we currently experience now will become very different when it has to be self-sustaining. Expect ads and price hikes and similar treats.

It'll be interesting to see where Netflix goes in the near future.
Killing off the Marvel shows seems to be the start of a slippery slope.
I can imagine the Disney/Fox merger and their new channel could mean they get some serious competition in the near future.
Plenty of so-so shows on Netflix, but the gold is becoming rarer.

Last night we watched the first episode of Haunted
It's basically one of those shows where some tells there 'real life' experience and it's recreated in scenes in between what they're saying. It's only twenty minutes long but I tell you, you could sail ships through the holes in the story. The show basically analyses and investigates absolutely nothing. It might as well be filming 14 year olds telling stories round a campfire with an upward lit torchlight. Really badly made.

I've gone off Netflix as a result. If this is how it's gonna, it's little different to TV in that case. There might be something you want to watch on right now, there may not be.
You know what's always ready to go though? My bookshelves of VHS tapes, DVDs, and games. I naively traded in all my DVD boxsets like Breaking Bad because it was on Netflix, but now I'm thinking of returning to physical collecting. I cannot tolerate these companies arbitrarily dangling a carrot then pulling it away.

So I had a mate over last night and we watched The Night Comes For us.
Holy moly, this is a violent film!
It's like a cross between The Raid 2 and gore porn.
We enjoyed it, but it was a bit toe-curling at times!
If you like both of those things, then this is the film for you!
Basically, if you're in the Triads, you can't get out.
They'll send lots of people with guns and blades to stop you.

I watched all of Part 2 of Making a Murderer this week. It's the kind of thing I feel a bit grimy watching, but after seeing, binging even, the first 'season' a couple of years back I'm in it for the long haul whether I like it or not. After 20 hour-long episodes I still meander this way and that with what I think really happened, but it's the US justice system that's scariest of all. Bleak but riveting.
Something more light-hearted next.

If true the viewership drop offs for Luke Cage and Iron Fist sound like they were pretty severe making the cancellations sound pretty reasonable. I'm kind of expecting Punisher to be the next to fall. Ultimately, it feels like time is calling on all Netflix Marvel shows now Disney is itself in play
