I watched Jang's review and the gadgets are brilliant. The ejector seat and machineguns are very well done.

There seems to be a fair bit of negativity towards the set (reading the brickset comments) but I'm not sure what anyone was expecting. One gripe I can kind of understand is the price ... but there are two licences involved.

My gripe is that it looks gross, its so boxy, have a look at the actual car it's based on and it's unrecognisable. The Mini and the Beetle are both beautiful representations of the actual cars but this is just rubbish.

The gadgets look amazing, and the build looks brilliant too, but as a display piece it's awful.

I think it looks pretty great. Yeah, not as sleek as the real thing of course but I like it. But if I get any Lego credits this year they’ll be going on the Voltron set.

Voltron looks ace but I have no real connection to it, not being ofay with the source. The set I'm most excited to see is the rumoured micro-scale Hogwarts. Could be really special.

It's not just that it's not as sleek, it's like a completely different car entirely, like, it's barely recognisable as being the car it's based on. As a car in its own right, it's nice, but it's just so disappointing as a "replica."

Hogwarts could be utterly immense though.

When you look at it from certain angles (and possibly squint a bit) it does sort of convey the feeling of a DB5... but let’s be honest, it really doesn’t stand up when compared to the real thing. I may have initially been over enthusiastic, I don’t reckon I’ll be getting this one.

I've found that the F40 is the only Lego car that looks like its inspiration.

I'm not a fan of the Veyron or Porsche.

I think the five Creator vehicles, along with the Ideas’ Caterham 7 are all very good representations of the originals. I really think the Aston is the first real misstep in the range.

As for the Technic sets, I think the Bugatti Chiron is pretty good looking at comparison photos. The RS3 is ok, you can certainly tell it’s a Porsche, but there’s something off about the front end compared to the real thing.

£350! That's for 6,000 pieces though, and when you consider that the Falcon is £650 for 7,000 it's actually very cheap (in LEGO context). A bit below 6ppp which is on the cheaper end of almost any LEGO set you wanna compare it to.

Is anyone here interested in a complete set of Series 18 minifigs? Just picked up a case so thought I'd ask before I eBay 'em.

Hogwarts looks great, but how is that price anywhere near ‘child friendly’?

Appreciate it’s a big set, but the price point is for the AFOL.

Any of you guys buying a HP minfigs case when they are released? Wouldn’t mind purchasing a complete set if you do.
