They might do a standalone version that is under ?400, but the full setup needs the PlayStation eye and 2 move controllers. The move controllers were ?30each on PS3 weren't they?

I suppose they can be clever and make sure none of the initial lineup uses the move controllers to bring the minimum requirements down to just the camera and headset.
They are saying that it the screen units are some kind of special pixel structure that no other device on earth uses, so the cost of manufacturing those is going to be higher than that of a regular one

The reality is that anything launched now is going to be sold in smaller numbers, so it all comes down to just how much of a hit Sony are prepared to take to make sure they can win the long game.
There is huge potential for the technology , but I feel like it could well just be a flash in the pan moment of excitement that will not be taken up outside a group of enthusiasts

There is no way that Tekken 7 is going to use the Move controllers, so I'd imagine that there will also be other games that won't require them.
      Kept you waiting, huh?

Anyone here actually tried it? I'm bit confused with the ps move, because it doesn't have a stick or digipad on it. I think people were demoed that Rigs game on a few events, but how do the controls work? Do you lean you head forward and back ot move back and forth?
I'm asking, because rift and vive both have a control stick/pad on there new control devices iirc.

Hahaha this was brilliantly optimistic! ?399 solus now seems more likely.

I think some games that have been announced, particularly ones that aren't exclusive to VR like Tekken 7 and DOAX3, won't really use it that much. It'll probably just be like strapping a TV to your head in them really.

Better that than a POV of a tiger-faced man punching you in the face!

The PSMove has the "navigation controller", which does have a stick on it - though I don't know if that's supported by the PS3.

That controller doesn't have any motion sensitivity though. It's literally just a pad designed to fit in one hand, with fewer buttons.

All in all, I don't think the Move is going to be the optimal solution for this stuff. That being said, Killzone 3 worked really well with those two controllers used in tandem, so who knows?

Looking through the list it does actually make me feel like we're back before the launch of PS Move again. Everything is either a none-VR game with the function shoe horned in or a glorified tech demo. The few games that are proper full games built to take advantage of it from the grounds up don't appeal. 100% a wait 12 months after release and reassess deal.

I was thinking the same thing looking through that list. Where are the games that justify what is likely to be a pretty hefty price tag?

I must be the exception, as there's quite a bit on there that interests me! I do agree that there aren't actually any 'proper' games that take advantage of VR though. I'm just a sucker for new tech.

No, I think the same as you, Wakka. There's a fair few in that list that I'd like to try, especially ones with flying or dinos!
