    28 Months Later

Promotional rounds are underway for “Ex Machina,” the intriguing looking upcoming sci-fi film that marks the directorial debut of screenwriter Alex Garland. Garland, who penned the novel on which Danny Boyle’s “The Beach” was based, has built up a solid resume over the past decade – penning the scripts for “28 Days Later,” “Sunshine,” “Dredd,” […]

Reviving like the undead, Alex Garland has said that the third film in the 28 Later series is potentially back on the cards and would likely stick with the 28 Months Later approach rather than the fan mooted 28 Years Later in order to give them breathing room for the future as he doesn't see the series ever getting past a Years installment. He suggests it's not near but they are now seriously considering pursuing it at last.

It doesn't matter now but I can tell you that the 28 Years Later concept was being looked at by the producers straight after Weeks was released. Sounded like a Mad Max type thing from how it was described to me with the only specific being that rage-infected people were mounted on things to become weapons themselves. The idea dropped off the face of the Earth very early from what I can see. That was years ago.

Three years between the previous two posts.

            No rush Danny, eh?

You don't have to make the next film 28 years after the previous one, mate!

If he'd just let the studio make sequels like every other horror franchise we'd be on 128 Years Later by now
