    Supersonic

The story of Oasis in their own words. Really good watch.

    Art of China

This has been a good series on the whole, looking at the history of art in places like Japan, Spain, France and Scandinavia. The presenter, Andrew Graham-Dixon, is often too full of his own opinion for my liking and frequently meanders into pretension but his passion is evident and his enthusiasm admirable.

Andrew Graham-Dixon charts the glorious rise and calamitous fall of China's last dynasty.

      Who is America

Worth subjective yourself to live TV for. Both hysterical and mortifying (slightly more weighted to the latter). To think these are elected politicians is frightening.

NBC has announced plans to bring back its recently cancelled series “Timeless” for a two-part series finale. The telemovie will allow a resolution of the cliffhanger at the end of the second season and offer a proper conclusion to the story. The series follows Rufus (Malcolm Barrett), a scientist; Wyatt (Matt Lanter), a soldier; and […]

Resurrected one last time, NBC has confirmed that they have commissioned a two hour TV movie of Timeless which will end the struggling shows storyline. Presumably it will hit sometime 2019

          Glow: Season 2
Took a few episodes to find its footing again with us but once it did it was a good run. If they ultimately decide not to renew (though I expect they will) it ends at a decent enough point too.

          The Simpsons: Season 29
Latest run was reasonable, nothing too standout but the last episode wasn't too bad a place to end it if they weren't intent on milking it for many more years.

The IT Crowd: Series 1 and 2
Very easy to revisit and blitz through so we made quick work of the first two runs. Still prefer Douglas to Denholm though both are good, enjoyed the theatre and Jen's death episodes again particularly.

The showrunners for Modern Family are pushing towards a Season 11. We're still watching but hope they don't get it, the show is quite far beyond its best now and in quite heavy need of wrapping up.

The IT Crowd: Series 3 and 4
Only the finale to watch now. On rewatch it remains clear that the third run is a good one but the steam is lost quite a bit for the fourth making it obvious why they walked away rather than beat it to death.

                Supergirl: Season 2
Finally got this one done. There are moments of decentness to it but it feels all too clear that there's little clue on how to handle the show. It's mostly all a bit meh, I'm going to have a break before tackling S3 which hopefully has a bit more about it.

I watched the first 2 episodes of season 10 but had to stop because it was turning into which of the cast was going to look uncomfortably old this week.

                    It was really off putting.

I can't believe this show continued on for so long after it sent a character in to space! If that isn't 'jumping the shark'/'nuking the fridge' I don't know what is!

Following yesterday’s news that sitcom ratings juggernaut “The Big Bang Theory” is coming to an end after twelve seasons, EW has released a report suggesting the reason for its end – it’s down to star Jim Parsons. Parsons, who plays Sheldon Cooper, is the biggest star of the series and CBS approached the cast with […]

Apparently the network offered Jim Parsons (Sheldon) $50m to sign up for Season 13 and Season 14 of The Big Bang Theory and he's the reason the show is ending, as he turned them down. He's sorted either way as his spin-off Young Sheldon is doing well as it goes into its second season anyway. Money on the show ending with them moving out of the apartment building on the day the elevator is fixed.

                            Tangled: The Series Season One
We were sick of seeing the same kids show and wanted something new that was a bit less typically boyish than SFJr1 usually mandates being on. The missus loves herself some Disney so this became out teatime watching habit. It starts pretty typical and isn't deep at all but broadly you could probably cut this down and slap a '2' on it and you'd have a pretty good sequel on your hands. It's surprisingly decent and when it goes for direct referencing to the film it nails the tone despite the differing art styles. It even has the key film cast back to feels pretty genuine and the occasional songs (4-5 across a 21 episode season) are up to snuff to the film too. Surprisingly good stuff.

It was rumored but now it’s official – the upcoming fourth season of USA Network’s “Mr. Robot” will be its last. The Live Feed reports the new season is getting an expanded twelve-episode order and as a result won’t begin production until the winter and won’t air until sometime well into 2019. Producers, including creator […]

The next battle for the rights to bring pictures into your living room has kicked off at IFA, Europe’s biggest consumer electronics show this week with the two biggest rivals – LG and Samsung – unveiling 8K televisions at the event. Old standard-definition TVs had a resolution of 720×480 pixels for NTSC and 720×576 pixels […]

Tech chasers have probably already been throwing out their Blu-Rays for 4K discs, well throw them out too as Samsung and LG are launching their 8K OLED TV. LG's set is 88inch in size whilst Samsung is offering 65-88inch options.

Hold on to your hats though, 16K already sits on the horizon
