It saved Paramount’s bacon this year, and thankfully the studio knows not to rush things when it comes to maximising the success of John Krasinski’s family drama horror thriller “A Quiet Place”. The film, which Krasinski both directed and co-starred in with his wife Emily Blunt, followed a family living a near silent life in […]

Apparently Paramount will make The Quiet Place II but won't proceed until John Krasinski is available to work on it.

The “Friday the 13th” franchise is in a state of limbo right now as the legal battle between producer Sean Cunningham and “Friday the 13th” writer Victor Miller has yet to be settled. Warner Bros. Pictures and New Line currently have the distribution rights should another film go ahead, but we’re a while off from […]

The legal battle over the Friday the 13th franchise which has blocked attempts to make more films and recently killed the game continues but Platinum Dunes have said they are still biting at the bit to make the next entry the second that issue is cleared up.

The “Child’s Play” franchise is undergoing a resurgence with both a new movie and TV series on the way. While the movie is effectively a reboot of the franchise, the series is reportedly a continuation of the previous seven films. So it makes understandable sense that according to Bloody Disgusting, actor Brad Dourif will be […]

Mancini has said that he plans to continue the Child's Play existing canon via both the upcoming series and more films regardless of the reboot that's planned. Brad Douriff has said he too will continue to voice Chucky but not in the reboot.

Robert Englund has shared his thoughts on how to re-reboot The Nightmare on Elm Street:

Considered one of the most defining franchises in all of horror, Wes Craven’s “A Nightmare on Elm Street” film series has resulted in at least two bonafide film classics with the original and “New Nightmare,” and some strong runners-up such as the third and fourth films. One of the key elements of that series is […]

“If I had an Eli Roth budget I would have cast different actors to play Freddy for every potential victim, because Freddy is only alive in the imagination of his future victim. They would talk about it at a slumber party or in a locker room at school, or on the bus going home. All we know about this Fred Krueger is he wears a hat, wears a red and green striped sweater and has a clawed hand. That’s the specifics. At the end, it would be the ultimate victim and we see Freddy peel [his face] open and maybe it’s yours truly revealed. And it’s the essence of Freddy.I don’t think Freddy is an ’80s villain. There’s a huge nostalgia for the eighties for a variety of reasons, but so many horror films and characters transcend that decade.”

MGM’s upcoming film remake of the 1988 horror classic “Child’s Play” is reportedly set to ditch the supernatural aspects of the story and adopt a more sci-fi thriller tone. ComicBook.com reports that the new take, from filmmaker Lars Klevberg (“Polaroid”), won’t feature a doll possessed by a serial killer but rather: “a defective ‘buddy doll’ […]

The Child's Play reboot starts filming next month and reportedly no longer contains the storyline involving a criminals soul taking possession of a child's doll. Instead the toy is a defective smart toy that is hacked to remove its limitations on learning and violence.

As yet, praise god for the continuation of the original canon
