How much would an FPGA SNES Mini cost/be worth? The Super Nt costs $190.

I'd obviously prefer FPGA retro machines to be cheap and plentiful, but that's not the case. The NES & SNES Mini do a very good job with emulation imo. Of course, people can examine the emulation and maybe find certain issues, but there aren't big obvious problems. No, the emulation is good enough to feel reasonably authentic.

I really hope FPGA for every retro machine becomes the norm, but that might never happen.

When it comes to price, a Raspberry Pi with two quality controllers is worth around £70. So it's not like Nintendo are charging crazy £100+ money for their Mini consoles.

I'm happy with the packaging, tbh. We all know ROMs are essentially nebulous and free. And that the SNES Mini is just a Raspberry Pi.

It's all delusions and denials and mind games with the self.
