As title. The HDR thing is what worries me; what if I get the wrong type of HDR? Tagging EvilBoris as his recent tweets make me think he might know about this stuff.

Size?
Generally the smaller they are the poorer they are with their DR capability.
Certainly with TVs you struggle to get anything under 50” that does what HDR is meant to deliver.
In PC monitor world it’s early days and specialist, so the choice is far more limited, there are a couple of 27” models that do HDR the way it’s meant to be done
Either way you will end up looking at £1200ish.

This great monitor just had it's price announced
NVIDIA G-Sync HDR gaming monitors promise great specs with required features like an iris-searing 1,000 nits of peak brightness, wide color gamut and high 144 Hz refresh rate. Unfortunately, G-Sync HDR monitors from the likes of ASUS and Acer have been delayed multiple times, so we've yet to learn the price or whether the displays can live up to the hype. Now, Acer's Predator X27 has gone on pre-order at Newegg, so at least we know how much it'll cost: A mind-blowing $1,999.

Simply try and find the smallest HDR 4K TV with the lowest latency for the PS4/PS5.

This is why I ended up with the KS7500. I use the same screen for both the PC and consoles and wanted something that would do a decent job of 4K, 1080p and the ranges in between whilst also having the right level of HDR support and latency. It was a good one for ticking all those boxes though I'm not sure what this years model is that's equivalent.

I picked up the same as you on ebay for £500 a few months back.

HDR in PC monitors as I said is virtually non-existent, outside about 3 specialist displays such as this.
It's interesting reading people's reactions to the HDR PC screens, PC gamers allegedly want this premium gaming experience which was higher resolution, better IQ and Performance than a console.
But they want that experience on a cheap low contrast LCD at a lower resolution.
PC gamers are about to get ****ed in the face with a new HDR format that will make things even more confusing.Last edited by EvilBoris; 28-05-2018, 17:46.

Started considering a 4K TV but I sit 8 or 9 feet away form the screen so I think I need like a 70"+ screen to be able to appreciate 4K. Does that sound right? Playing Fallout 4 last night I couldn't discern pixels on my 63" FullHD display. I was hoping to get something a bit smaller (55") because I don't have a big living room and the current telly looks too big really, like having a Rolls Royce parked outside a run down council estate. Is there a (correct, accurate) way to tell what size screen you need to appreciate 4K re: viewing distance etc? Cheers.
