Amp takes a long time to start?

    Hi all

I have a 15 year old Pioneer amp. It came in a home-cinema-in-a-box set, so it's nothing special, but I've always liked it and it's lasted me a good long time.

However - it recently (a few months ago) started taking a while to kick in when a game/movie/TV show started. It'll be silent for a while then boom the sound will kick in. It was OK at first as it was only about a 30 second delay, but now it's taking as long as 20 minutes or more to start working.

Worse, last night when it finally kicked in on the Switch (sound travelling via Switch HDMI -> TV then TV optical out -> amp), the rear speakers and the sub weren't functioning at all. I tried it on my PS4 (direct optical link) and when it finally kicked in, sound did work properly.

Seems like it's dying, right? Nothing I can do I'm guessing?

For what a pretty decent yamaha/denon/onkyo costs you'd be better off just buying a new one. It sounds like it's on its last legs.
