SNES Classic through HDMI - mDP adapter

So I have a Dell UltraSharp 2417H which sadly only have one HDMI port which is already taken by my GameCube. Is it possible to run a HDMI cable from the SNES Classic through an adapter - https://www.komplett.no/product/8093...yport-til-hdmi - to the mDP port on my monitor?

I know I could just get a HDMI switch but the one I have won’t recognize the GCHD adapter, so I’m not exactly thrilled at the prospect of buying another one.

I found this which tells me it won't work that way:

I already spoke to Dell Support and they are sending a new monitor, but I find it hard to believe I need a new monitor. I had an older laptop that connected to my U2717D monitor prior with no issue...

I have a similar Dell monitor (U2715H) with mDP in. I tried it with my laptop's HDMI out but it didn't work.

Ah, okay. Thanks a lot. I did a bit of googling but I didn’t see the stuff you linked to. Thanks a lot!

I ordered another HDMI switch, fingers crossed it will recognize the GCHD.
