Carrie Coon (Fargo, Widows, The Leftovers) and almost unsurprisingly Finn Wolfhard (It, Stranger Things) are both said to be being lined up to appear in Ghostbusters III. Coon would play the single mother to Wolfhard's role, him and his friends discovering the ghostly threat that brings back the original busters team.

Aykroyd says that post-GB3 they have one or two other projects in the works but beyond that he's already written a treatment for Ghostbusters High which would have Egon, Ray and Peter meeting up at High School in the 1960's in a prequel to the original film... which makes absolutely no sense whatsoever and will never get made.
