I loved the first game on the Saturn. I also liked Metal Slug X on the PS1. After that -- I thought the Neo Geo Pocket Metal Slug game was realy good. Metal Slug Advance is also a good handheld edition.

Overall, I'd choose 1, 2, and 3 as my faves. They are 'go-to' games when emulating arcade classics.

It's no surprise to anyone that i don't hold the neo in the same high regard as a lot of people on here however there is one exception & it's this series of games even in 2019 the animation quality is obscene the amount of detail in them puts a lot of games to shame. It's the one series that i can hop in & out of on a regular basis and not get bored playing at all. Nowdays i mainly play them on mame although i do have the collection on wii but i don't power that up that often. My fave is probably X but to be honest they all are fun in different ways.

All the Slug games blur into one, to be honest.

I'm with the others who've spent a lot of money in the Neo-Geo multicabs.
