I thought the brief glimpse of the high-speed fight in the desert looked great, hopefully, they'll be more of that and Jim Carrey was rather good. Don't like the design of Sonic much, but can live with it; more so as the idea of walking talking bipedal blue hedgehog, that can run faster than the speed of sound, was all a little ridiculous to begin with .

It would appear this isn't going to improve the games that made great movies to bad movies ratio.

Can't say I'm impressed. Sonic looks so wrong. Why are his legs blue? Why is Eggman/Robotnik thin? Why was this even made?

Like I said above, almost certainly because someone saw the receipts from the Smurfs and Alvin movies and set about trying to find out if there was another brand they could do pretty much the same thing with. Sonic was probably seen as a good fit because they thought they could do that, but also have Marvel-movie-esque action scenes.

It's purely a money-making exercise, though I'm curious as to how it'll pan out for them.

It's weird to think we get this and Detective Pikachu around the same time, as by all accounts, that looks amazing.
