They don’t sell them in Japan

Whenever I go home, jam donuts are among the first things I grab. Those Tesco or M&S paper bags of jammy bliss.

They do custard ones, but that’s no good.

There used to be one in London on Oxford Street, then it closed down.

The brits don't seem too fond of cream puffs.

Or they just thought that it was too expensiv-eru!

All jokes I can think of have been in poor taste since about 1991. I'm not taking your bait. I'm no Danny Baker.

Been in London again today, I didn't get any cobblers but I got 2 x "done up like a kipper".

I'm not the type to pine after things that wouldn't make sense where I am, but the things Japanese people seem to like and dislike are baffling.

They have so many things with strawberry jam in them already, so it's hardly a mental leap to attempt putting jam in a doughnut and see what happens.

Their typical breakfast is savoury stuff like rice, fish and natto, yet the cereals are sickeningly sweet to the point I can't have an entire bowl(and I love sweet stuff). Heck, even the Weetabix here has sugar in it. More like WTFabix.

As for Beard Papa, I'd much rather have places like Hummingbird Bakery and Lola's Cupcakes over one poxy cream puff shop on Oxford Street

I queued for two hours on a Sunday morning at 8am to get cupcakes from Lola's Cupcakes in Harajuku as a surprise for my wife. She queued for an hour at Ben's Cookies in Tokyo one evening and when it got to her turn they'd sold out of everything.

I had no idea Ben's Cookies was an international thing. I've never been impressed by them; their cookies are more like muffin tops.
