Kutcher himself confirmed the news, saying the fourth season will consist of twenty episodes – ten to stream later this year and another ten in 2020. Kutcher, Sam Elliott […]

The upcoming The Ranch: Season 4 will be the final season as Netflix swings the axe.

Swamp Thing is already cancelled, which seems pretty early. I haven't seen any of it but it was one that at least seemed a bit different on the DC service. https://bloody-disgusting.com/tv/356...d-swamp-thing/

Yep, from what I can gather the pilot is really good but the run was chopped down from 13 eps to 10 and then cancelled because the show costs $80m to make and they were expecting a $40m subsidy from the state it films in but due to some bizarre error it turned out the real figure they'll get is $14m making the show hugely unprofitable as they can't move it elsewhere. I'll be curious to see the show, never really 'got' the appeal of Swamp Thing but it'll be a shame if it turns out as good as word says it is.

I saw one comment on Twitter which really hit home and has far wider implications. The gist is that this happens because everyone is now chasing Netflix. They want a piece of that action. And yet... Netflix is $14 billion in debt.

And when you consider that, globally at least, Netflix went pretty much unchallenged for a long time, it feels like nobody will ever have the userbase that Netflix has right now. And still, $14 billion in debt.

$14bn and borrowing $10bn every 3 or so years - a bubble that will have to burst one day.

Netflix apparently does not have much more room to grow in the United States according to a new study from PriceWaterhouse Coopers’ new ‘Global Entertainment & Media Outlook’ research report. In the first quarter of 2019, Netflix added a net 1.74 million streaming customers in the United States and now has a reach of 60.2 […]

First sign of trouble could be this if true, reportedly Netflix is about to hit the ceiling in the US in terms of potential subscribers. Therefore with rising costs and all these rival services hitting in the next two years Netflix is likely to see growth stall and maybe even signs of userbase decline as people migrate their subs which would cause panic for the service.

There's rumours that the DCU Service is being re-evaluated. It's original content has been universally praised but it's considered to be a niche service so it could be partially dissolved and folded into the Warner Media service:

A new report in The Wall Street Journal spoke to several sources who indicate the upcoming WarnerMedia subscription video-on-demand service will apparently come in at the fairly steep price of $16-17 per month. That cost however is expected to bundle together HBO, Cinemax along with Warner Bros. TV shows and movies – HBO Now as […]

That service will reportedly cost $16-$17 per month but gets you access to Warner's movie and TV content, HBO, Cinemax etc so saves money for consumers compared to what they're already paying just for those services solo. Basically a quick and effective counter to Disney+ even though the mouse house is going aggressively cheap on their sub cost.

The FOX-turned-Netflix supernatural drama “Lucifer” has been renewed for a fifth and final season. FOX cancelled the series after its third season, but Netflix saved it and produced a shorter ten-episode fourth season which was released on May 8th. Now, they’ve re-upped for one more season which will be the show’s true final outing. An […]

Side note: Netflix recently revived Lucifer for a fourth season and has just greenlit Lucifer: Season 5... that will be its final run.

Legendary and Warner Brothers are going all in on “Dune” with the upcoming WarnerMedia streaming service handing out a straight-to-series order for the series “Dune: The Sisterhood”. The project will serve as a companion series/spin-off to the Denis Villeneuve-directed upcoming two-film adaptation of Frank Herbert’s famed sci-fi novel. Legendary Television and Warners Television are distributing […]

WarnerMedia Service is pushing ahead with plans for its TV series Dune: The Sisterhood and isn't messing around with it either. They've hired Denis Villeneuve to direct the pilot episode as the series is a companion piece to his two film adaptation.

They apparently retooled Ep10 into a final episode of some sorts but it's unknown if it was a proper ending, still fairly open or just a season finale
