The Labour party frays a little at the edges as some of its prominent MP's deviate from Corbyn's line saying they would only support a General Election is it was certain that No Deal would be avoided during one.
Justine Greening has said she will not stand in the next General Election saying that she can no longer work for the Tories now that they are, for all intent purposes, just the Brexit Party.
Raab has squirmed and been called out on it in another example of Tory MP's clearly being fed scripted lines to repeat when they're being interviewed and looking incompetent and blatantly transparent for it - today's go to Tory line for everyone is 'we don't want another election'
The legal bill forcing an A50 extension will be voted on today, Hammond believes there are enough rebel MP's to pass it and it would extend the Brexit deadline till around 31 January 2020
Hammond has also called out Johnson's EU negotiation excuses saying that not only does Johnson have no alternative to the backstop but that he is also lying about the UK's negotiation position being threatened by things like todays vote as Johnson hasn't even assembled a negotiation team.
Meanwhile Johnsons speech has led to Sterling slumping to $1.196 against the dollar with concerns raised that No Deal and a GE could see it drop as low as $1.10Comment

Johnson will need Labours support to maintain his election (cor blimey!) so Labour have stated that they will back a call for an early GE on three conditions:
01 - The legal bill preventing No Deal on 31 October is passed
02 - Tory Ministers agree to obey the passed bill
03 - That once a General Election has been called the date of the GE cannot be changed at a later date
Meanwhile another Tory MP, Keith Simpson, has said he will stand down before a General Election stating that he feels like the first officer to man the lifeboats on the Titanic.Comment

How's the Scottish court case against proroguing parliament going?
-The government has been accused by the opposing QC of treating the court with a 'certain degree of contempt'
-He's accused them of blocking the under oath testing of a witness
-Also accused them of concealing and misleading the court over Johnsons reasoning for proroguing parliament
-The governments own QC has been permitted to admit late papers
-The accusers QC has disclosed a written private note from Johnson saying all of September is pretty much just an act to make it look to the public like MP's are actually doing anything of value, the note also confirming that the decision to prorogue parliament was made at least almost two weeks before last weeks reveal
-Boris has failed to account for his reasonings or to testify as had been requested
Boris has also met with rebel MP's and it apparently went poorly. He tried to persuade them a deal was imminent but it sounds like they had already spoken to EU lawyers to confirm there is no deal in motion.Comment

I'm a socialist to the core and therefore genetically suspicious of the Conservative Party, but I have to say I've been really impressed by their rebel faction today. Phillip Hammond over last 24 hours in particular. Never thought I'd say that and I feel strangely unclean for 'coming out' about it. Tory crush get.
