    SX-1 - MSX2+ FPGA Clone



    PRODUCT INFO

    The SX-1 is a FPGA based computer compatible 100% with the MSX2+ standard. It features VGA/RGB/Composite video output, stereo audio output, PS/2 keyboard input, 2 DB9 joystick ports, 2 USB ports, SD card slot and 2 cartridge slots.

    The board has mini-ITX form factor thus it can be host on any modern PC case. Furthermore, the board includes internal pin headers for audio, USB and joystick making it very easy the use of a PC case front/rear panels.

    Internally, the SX-1 also features SCC+ sound, FM sound, 2 or 4 MB RAM mapper, and turbo mode (5,37mhz/8,06mhz). The two cartridge slots allow the use of any MSX compatible cartridges. Also each slot can be configured as internal MegaSCC+.

    You can connect any PS/2 keyboard (or USB keyboard if implement PS/2 protocol through USB) and MSX compatible joysticks (DB9). The unit also includes a SD slot that can be used as mass storage device through BASIC or MSXDOS command line.

    In addition an optional external cartridge caddy/extension can be connected to have the cartridge slots outside the case. The caddy comes in a 3D printed case and includes ribbon cables and fixing screws.

    Oh tempting! There’s a lot of MSX games I like the look of but never had the means to play.

        Space Manbow by Konami is an awesome shoot 'em up. Costs tons these days.
