Critics Club II: 57 - Daniel Day Lewis

We're approaching the end of Critics Club II as we move onto this next actor...

Vote for the movie you feel is their best whilst also discussing their other work, your reasons for voting and thoughts on what is their weakest.

Some will have very long lists so some trimming will be required to focus on the key entries but broadly the main selection will be available each time

    He's such a worthy actor.
He'd never lower himself to doing a filthy Marvel movie.

Without hesitation, I went straight for There Will Be Blood.
Not only is it a fascinating film, but his performance is amazing.

I mean, "I drink your milkshake" is an amazing scene, but it's the journey there that makes it so intense.

Love Daniel Day Lewis. First thing I saw him in was the brilliant In The Name Of The Father ... but There Will Be Blood has to be my pick too. He's a screen presence like no one else.

There will be blood. He plays such a crazed dangerous man that is difficult to watch. I don't even think DeNiro in his prime could have done it better.

I haven't seen There Will Be Blood because I heard it wasn't a horror film and so it has no business having that name.

            It's a transfusion ward drama.

              It's a South-Central L.A. gang war drama.

It's a black pudding origin story.
