            Here’s one I bet not many of you have heard...

            There is a not-so-good (possibly exclusive?) horizontal shmup for the ZX Spectrum called Destiny Mission. Whilst the game itself isn’t much to shout about, the title screen music is. Stick with it as it’s a slow builder:

                      Not totally similar.

                      A fair chunk of Rage Racer's BGM is much more guitar-led whereas Sonic Wings 3's music is more consistently in keeping with "traditional" electronic D'n'B.

                        Well, that's what I thought of when I heard the Sonic Wings 3 tunes. Anyway, it's definitely something different for a shoot 'em up.

                                The Thunderforce IV intro music is the music I think of whenever shmup music comes up.



                                Then it's the Xenon 2 Megablast intro, not sure if this counts since it's a cover/sample of a real song I think? It's great either way.

                                I also love the music in Giga Wing.
