anyone know what ps1 games had region coding?

back in the day when the jap biohazard 3 came out i think the guys in project k (remember them?) had to give me an action replay code to get the thing to work on my chipped uk ps1. this was of course sony's first of many attempts to stop importers. did it ever effect any other ps1 games?

was thinking of picking up either an original or the cheap reissue of policenauts and wanted to make sure.

Protected JP games - Policenauts should be fine. I remember the US version of Dino Crisis being a pain back in the day...

Hmm... Rockman collection games had that protection as well. I don't know how a modded PS2 handles it, though.

silent hill?? i had the us version and that worked fine. there were different kind of mod chips though. i had mine done around 1996 so i dunno. well theres nothing else on that list that bothers me.

You can burn it to your computer, patch it and burn it back to a blank disc.

Not sure but GameFAQ's seems to say that. Maybe someone made a patch for the Saturn version.

Silent Hill US ran fine on my chipped UK PS1, but my PAL UK Um Jammer Lammy refused to run and came up with the region lockout screen. I don't know what chip I had, but it was done in early '99.
