Directly opposite the train station exit, not on Dale Street.
It must have been around 1984-1986.
Chaps, sorry to bump an old thread. However, I remember the software shop by Moorfields station. It must have been around 1983/1984. It was a cool shop and the place I first saw Impossible Mission, Beachhead and Zaxxon (on the Atari 8-bit). My dad bought me Miner 2049er for the Atari 8-bit from there, cost ?45. Alot of money back then.
Anyone remember what the shop was called?
Yakumo - I remember being impressed with the presentation of the Playstation Console in HMV upstairs when it launched. Many years ago now.
I remember Bits n Bytes. It had a few arcades in the past too. I remember playing Robocop there and Combat School.
I remember City Software, but I can't remember where it was exactly.
Do you remember the shop in St John's Precint? The name escapes me. It was a bit more cleaner looking than your average indy, but it did stock import games. I bought gems such as Magical Flying Hat from there and... Ringside Angel
Add me into the list of Liverpool gamers. Bought loads of Amstrad/Speccy stuff from Bits'n'Bytes, got my import MD with TF III and Golden Axe from Microbytes. Fun reading this thread again!

Oh man, I used to play the Robocop arcade game in Bits & Bytes. Microbyte was where I'd go to see import games first. They were really popular back in the late 80s.
I really liked an import gaming shop called 'TORC' in Feltham High Street. Used to go there now and then in the early to mid-90s. Great prices and would swap games if you returned them quick. I remember they really pushed the 3DO and then the Saturn. True enthusiasts.
I also went to 'Raven Games' in Beckenham a few times -- it was like an Aladdin's cave for import gamers. But a bit too pricey for my liking.
