Takara Tomy's 'other' classic toy line (Zoids) has a couple of similar situations.

            Behold the fearsome WARDICK:

            And the deadly GUYSACK:

They also had a couple of kits with names inspired by Nazi Germany that had to be renamed for the west.

And not even a regular spastic, that one's a level 3 spastic. Intermediate spasticity.

Wardick and Guysack make me glad Japan exists.

I just noticed that is Hasbro packaging, they are the US distributors aren't they? Does that mean this is the western name?!? Good grief

It is, but remember that 'Spastic' is only considered deeply insulting in the UK. In the US it's in more common use and just means someone who is over excitable.

To be fair, it does sound like a Transformery name. What does he turn into? Not one of those charity plastic bags they keep shoving through my letter box I hope, that would be insulting.

Can't say I was aware of that - certainly makes more sense now thinking about it. There's a mod in the Moxxi DLC of Borderlands called 'Spastic' that makes enemies much faster and more erratic - when I first saw it I was a bit taken back.

What about the rumoured Borderlands Scope update in the pipeline?

                          *runs away*
