    Sky Broadband - Upgrade to Fibre Problem

    I've recently found out we can now get Fibre Optic broadband in our flat of six which would be fantastic as our current line is only 8Mbps, however we are 6 months from the end of our lease and the resident who's name the Sky contract is under says he is probably going to move out in September (as am I), Sky said that upgrading from Broadband unlimited would warrant a new 12 month contract. We are currently 18 months into our line and not on part of any on going contract that I know of.

    Sky say they cannot/will not transfer the contract to another resident (some will be staying on again next year) and the contract owner says he doesn't know if he'll be moving into a smaller flat next year whereby it would be too expensive to continue this Fibre Optic package at ?34 a month (inc line rental). I don't think he would be up for simply changing the bank details to one of the guys who stay on next year either.

    Anyone got any suggestions on how we can handle this situation?
