Floods - Calgary June 20th

So we are the next place getting hit with floods. Large areas of the city have been evacuated, I'm in work in the "evacuation standby" zone.

Been in work for 2 hours already and haven't gotten a thing done yet.

Downtown is basically shutdown, exit only. School is closed so I get the day off :-) I spent 5 hours yesterday finishing an assignment which I now can't hand in until Monday :-(
The shutdown power to work at 7am so half the hotel tried to leave and then other half wants to stay LONGER.

People be crazy.

No power to the hotel, running on emergency generators.

Had some proper scary moments last night.
I picked up a flashlight to help my boss checking the lobby and of course I get the one that cuts outs. Cue me going into the restaurant bathrooms to check them over and the light flickering on and off like I'm in a ****ing Resi game!

So tonight we have a skeleton staff and only 15 rooms occupied in the hotel.

The bellman just came down telling me he felt really uneasy in one of the suite upstairs he was checking so I'm off to see what it's like. I may be some time...
