The "Things To Get Done in 2014" Thread

This is going to be a proper busy year. I need to:

- Renew my passport
- Apply for Canadian citizenship
- Get a drivers license (or provisional at least)
- Get divorced in Canada
- Get divorced in Japan
- Get a new job

Some big things going down soon it seems. How about everyone else?

I filed marriage papers in Japan in 2005 and then in Hawaii in 2008, thus have to get divorced twice. Only one wife so far.

Curious, I only needed to do it in Japan. The UK recognises the Japanese marriage. I guess it depends on the country.

I am going to learn to drive.
I did learn/fail my test at 19 and never went back to it....but I will be 36 in July and think I should get it done!

Will help with my other plan of drinking less...as I have 20 years worth of taxi-ing to pay back to my friends

Keep working as I am to see if any more opportunities come up
Change my car
Sort out my leaky roof
Fix the hole in my kitchen caused by the leaky roof
Move house before it falls down completely
Do a few crazy fitness things, probably rowing related
Maybe do a triathlon

Move back down south full time again.

Continue with my efforts to get healthy.

Quit playing MMOs.
Be more productive generally. Me and some friends have a website taking off so hopefully will be doing more videogame, manga and anime writing and hoping to improve the quality of that work too.
Work on my anxiety issues, have been recommended treatment to begin soon so that's good.
Buy a PC Engine Duo R.
Get some furniture for my room, a few desks seems the most likely scenario. Another monitor just for HD stuff.
Try to get out of retail employment I suppose? I've no idea how to go about this though with what little exp and qualifications I have.
Learning to drive would be another big one but I'm not sure if I could handle that mentally, I've always had recurring bad dreams about driving and collisions but I'm sure it isn't as bad as I think it is. Have had my provisional for a year but done nothing towards it.
I'd like to be able to perform more modifications in order to perhaps fund better tools. I love working with console modification and making a little bit of money from it might be nice.
Stop wasting weekends by waking up at 2pm or something stupid like that.

I'm sure there are more but these will do to start with.

2013 was a big year for me as I (Along with over half of Lionhead) was made redundant so rather than getting another Games industry job, I decided to make the successful jump to the software industry. Along with that, I joined a gym and not only have I been going every work day at lunch but I enjoyed and have got into running, I asked my girlfriend to marry me and we've brought a house together. Not too bad a list!

As such, 2014 will be more about acting out some of those completed goals. Still, more to do!

Hit 12 Stone (13.5 Stone as of December 2013)
Run 10km non-stop (I regularly run 5km non stop at 10.5km/hr - 11km/hr)
Move into our new house (We're currently going through the last bits of the paperwork with the solicitors)
Pay Rise!

Play and complete a few of my old N64 games too!
