We don't know the full story either - how long had she been taking, did she have a problem, how did she get into it, had she been seeking help for addiction, and so on. Does everyone who's ever taken drugs instantly lose all capacity to care about any loved ones they might potentially leave behind?

She'd been a scaghead for years by the looks of her. Shooting up when you are supposed to be caring for your year-old son is inexcusible, regardless of whether you die or not.
