Freedom Wars (Japanese release) - online pass?

Does the Vita game Freedom Wars still require an online pass in the Japanese release?
I ask because in the past it did but they patched it out in the EU release on day one..

I believe they patched it out on the Japanese version the same day... Although the English release is not dubbed over, you just get subtitles.
