USA and JPN gajmes on a PAL PSOne?

    Hi,

How do I do the above basically? Also, can a PSOne make use of an RGB Scart?

    Ta.

Yes, PS1 outputs RGB scart fine with the right cable..

Getting it chipped is your best bet to play import games..

PS1/2/3 all use the same RGB cables.

PAL PSone have a region lock. You will need to use a ONEchip programmed PIC to circumvent the region lock, or you will only be able to play PAL backups.

As the others have stated, same RGB cable for the first three generations of PlayStation. A PSone can also decode NTSC colour via composite though, if you're that way inclined.

Edit: Actually the video chip outputs PAL60 instead of NTSC so my above statement was slightly incorrect. PAL models of PlayStation starting SCPH-7xxx and later all do this. Previously they did true NTSC.

Lol, no got given a PSOne a while back and found an old 14" Trinitron so thought I'd grab a few choice games but obv. I want the full 60Hzness.

Where can I get a ONEchip speedy?

I usually source them from a guy on ASSEMbler, Bad_Ad84.

ASSEMbler isn't up right now but I'd be happy to source it and install it for you, if you want.
