Japanese Gamecube "Sample" Boxes

Saw these on eBay and wondered if anyone had any info on them. I assume they were used for in store promotions? The seller has others titles available too.

i was looking at those as well to replace a few tatty covers. Probably used as blanks in store and most likely have SAMPLE written on them somewhere

I have several 'display' boxes for some JP games, but they are not designed like those with that SAMPLE written on them, so I'm not sure.
