Wow! Battle mode on top of a gamecube!

It would be cool if you could flip the lid up by driving over the button. Imagine everyone sliding off it as it goes up, or falling through the hole.

Looking at the piccy again, I don't think it is battle mode - there are no balloons, but there are 4 stars in each persons screen some of which are lit up and others not.

Anyone know what game it is? One of the new ones?

It is a battle mode. There are 3 varieties of battle mode or so I heard. Balloon Pop, Something else and Bob-Omb! This one looks like that judging by the bombs being held by the second character and the explosions. I read that each time you blow up an opponent they get a Star added. 4 Stars and you are out of there!

That casino level looks so much like something out of Sonic Adventure that it reminds me of an old rumour regarding MKDD:

That Sonic was going to be an unlockable character.

Tragically, I fear the world just aint great enough for something like that to happen in it.

So it's exactly the same as battle mode except you only have bombs instead of all the other powerups?

Me too! Although there are other games I want this year and already out, I have seen this game as important enough as to pre order and make it my final purchase of the year. Hopefully DVDBoxOffice will pull through with the bonus disc too!

i believe the japanese version comes out first on 7th november. anyone here getting this version?

I thought it was coming out last in japan which is why I ordered the US version from DVDBO...???
