I'm a sucker for shooters and despite being extremely tough, this is pretty good fun. Gorgeously slick visuals, extremely hectic and you can even listen to your own music (nice).

I've only got to the second level at the moment, but it's looking pretty promising.

This isn't going to be like Links again is it, in that you're the only person who ever plays this game?

Hey, I know I could have said this to you over the desk, but... well, it's funnier this way.

Seriously though can you give us any info on the gameplay, power ups etc.

From the screenies the camera looks like it is all over the place.

Right then, all the action takes place on a flat 2d plane, but the background twists and twirls through a serious on tunnels.

Firing is done with the right analog stick and you can between an intense laser beam for serious damage, or a purple spread laser that's handy for attacking enemy waves.

You have a strict amount of time to take the enemies out and must position your ship so that the fire locks on (this admittaedly is a bit naff and takes a while to get used to). As well as alternating between the two triggers (one for locking on, the other to change weapons) you also have four additional weapons that are assigned to the face buttons, (including a cool smart bomb).

There seems to be a lot of unlockable extras and multiple skills levels, so this should keep you going for some time. I've got no idea when the game's out though (had never even heard of it until I walked into the gamesroom) but we will be covering it in issue 19.

That should hopefully give you a rough idea.

          Hmm... sounds quite interesting.

Is this on XBox or PS2?

              Thanks.

Is this available yet, since I haven't been able to find it on Play-Asia or anywhere similar?

Xbox, N-Gage and GBA I heard.

I'm guessing the N-Gage and GBA versions may look a tad different

I thought this wasn't out till august or so, is it a finished version you have Strider? Maybe with it being of Scandinavian (?) origin Europe has the first release?

It's not finished code but it would appear to be pretty solid. Now onto the third level and while I'm still enjoying it, it really needs to take place against diffrent backdrops.

Why are they all pretty samey?

                    generic shooty stuff?

Is there a decent combo/scoring system or not?

sorry for the 3rd degree, but it does look lush from the screenies, I'm hoping there will be some gameplay to back it up.

All the levels take place in the same twisty turny tunnels, so even though it looks gorgeous, it does look extremely samey.

There must be a niche in the market for a small indie games label either distributing to specialist outlets or direct to customers over the net.
