Wasn't it the unit that games like cruisin USA ran on?

if you look at the seller coments underneath it seems to be some type of device for recording scores on an arcade machine and linking them with your home system.

Either way it is bloody bizarre. Didn't realise Cruisin USA was on N64 style hardware!

cyemonkey it begs the question why?

Its a load of parts for an Ultra 64 arcade machine methinks.. :/ Less popular than foot fungus.

It isn't N64 hardware based, it's just that the Midway/Nintendo arcade titles released around the mid 90s (like Killer Instinct) advertised the Ultra 64 in game and on side panel art.

To be fair though, the Killer Instinct hardware did have a MIPS R4000 series processer which the Nintendo 64 also had. Think that was roughly about all they shared as the Arcade board had slightly better sprite hardware...

All other Midway boards of that Era seem to use Texas Instruments TMS34010 Graphics Processer (An interesting 32 Bit processer that was geared towards raster graphics as it could quickly address pixels, windows and sprites through the processer...).

The thing above is nothing more then a card reader... as Midway tried even more ways to exploit their Nintendo link (badly...)

The only arcade board based on Nintendo 64 hardware was Setas Aleck64 board and can you name a game that wouldn't appear on the Nintendo 64 and Seta is very famous for? Yes that's right kiddies, their Super Real Mahjong games. I'll let you work out the rest yourselves.
