Hello there, about time we had welcome thread, although I imagine it'll fill up pretty quickly with short posts consisting of, "hello so and so" and "Are you really a girl" type stuff. Still best to keep it all in one place.

Hello bigwil, I've been knocking around here pretty much every weekday for a couple of years now and, while I'm not to good with words and don't hold any strong opinions with which to argue with you, I wholeheartedly welcome you to the forum.

I can recommend the First Play Thread as a constant source of great information that has helped guide my purchases and on many occasions improved my enjoyment of a game through the sharing of tactics and menu translation.

You the outdoorsy type? Then you may be interested in the rules and league updates to Rocball, the answer to what happens when you combine Volleyball and Soccer!

While if you just like to take a long hard look at some fit bitches then there's a Thread In Which We Appreciate The Fairer Sex too.

Hope you enjoy your time here :)

omghi2u!

crisp, i'm very lazy when it comes to posting stuff and i'll only bother if it's amusing... i generally don't follow threads even though the topic may be of interest which means i'll often post questions which have already been answered pages beforehand :D

until something better comes along you'll find me online with the chaps from the forum playing some halo2 and generally talking ****e.

my turn-ons include; hott chixx with big guns (bigguns? XD ), fine wine, mahogony and leather bound books.

welcome new member(s)!

i love gaming, almost as much as manga. First console i ever saw in action was the 2600, first console i ever owned was a master system, the 16bit generation got me interested in games (the snes was probably the first console i truely loved) and the 32/64 bit era is probably the reason why videogaming is such a big part of my life. While a lot of people i know think videogaming is a childish hobby (many feel the same about my love of manga alsohttp://ntsc-uk.domino.org/images/smilie/sad.gif) but thankfully i refuse to follow the crowd, something i do in all areas of my life whether its refusing to consume alcohol or being a sterotypical male. Thats why i choose to frequent these forums as its nice to find people who are able to discuss and share their knowledge and passion for gaming.

Well, i'm new so i'll introduce myself :)

I've been a gamer since the days of the Speccy, my current roster includes all consoles from the past 2 generations and a SNES aswell. I'm a Nintendo fan at heart, but play all 3 current machines equally. I bought a US Cube on launch day, and have about 40 games for it now, i have a PS2 with about 45 US PS2 games. I have an Xbox but only 8 games for that.

I like to follow what i see as the more serious side of gaming - not the FIFA's and the Need For Speeds but more like the Xenogears's and the ICO's. I have subscribed to Edge since gawd knows when and am a IGN Insider, and get most of my info from them, although forums are great fun so hopefully i can settle here - from what i've seen in the last few days there seems to be a wealth of info.

I have a habit of buying far more games than my time allows me to play, so hopefully i'll settle in here well ;) I'm currently playing Metal Arms on the Gamecube, although We Love Katamari arrived yesterday from VG+ so i hope to get Metal Arms done soonish and get on with that.

I think that's about all, well, all that i want to reveal anyway. Oh, before you ask, my username isn't because i'm fat, it's just that when i first went online the game i was currently playing was Donkey Kong 64, and the username Donkey was already taken :D

So, in closing, hi everyone :)

My mini introduction...

34 years old & I've been playing games since the Grandstand Scramble & Parker Brothers Merlin. Had a brief break from gaming when I started work in 1987, but got back into it in the late 1990's. I discovered this forum what seems like years ago, but was always a lurker. I'm hoping now to make some (possibly) valuable posts to this forum. :p

His latest thread topic in the General Gaming section was: "Is Nintendo for kids?" and then in the Message itself it read, "some people think it is. discuss".

Just made my first post in the setups thread so I suppose now is as good a time as any to introduce myself after months of lurking.

I'm 23, living in London with my wife and have been gaming since I first touched my cousin's Atari 2600 years ago. I was a bit of a Nintendo kid through and through after moving on from the Spectrum but I crumbled in the face of the mighty Dreamcast. I enjoy RPGs and quirky, offbeat games as well as the usual suspects.

About to work my way through a backlog of games after setting up the new Samsung LCD that this forum managed to convince me I needed! I'm currently trying to tell myself that I don't need a 360 yet, though we'll see how that goes. I've had a few import games here and there over the years, though I'm finally looking at an NTSC PS2 for my setup.

Other than gaming my primary interests are music, reading and travel. :)

I'm new here but have been hanging in the background for a while now. I'm known as 'Windy' on a few other forums but thought I would be better with a more formal name and thought it would be a decent community to join with a few more like minded people. I hope I'm proved right.

I'm a big turn based strategy, TRPG and RPG fan. Thats 'fan' in the correct sense of the word, really. My favourite games are the Super Robot Taisen series of TRPGs and the obvious classic fantasy TRPGs and SRPGs such as Ogre Battle, Final Fantasy Tactics, Fire Emblem and Disgaea and many others.

I suppose I do like all things related to Super Robot Taisen including the Mecha animes from which they are taken. I don't go as far as collecting the models or anything but have been known to dabble in some artwork and anime cels surrounding SRW and one or two other animes, but I think collecting mecha figurines might seem a bit funny for a 34 year old bloke, but stranger things have happened. Thats about it for now I suppose.

Am just over 40 ? yes I know I?m probably about twice as old as everyone here but no grandad remarks please!

Been playing games since the arcades first got Space Invaders and joined the home ?set? with a C64, from then going on to Amiga, SNES, PlayStation, DC, GC and currently Xbox and PSP.

I?m fortunate (or not depends on your point of view) to be married to a Japanese which means that roughly every couple of years we MUST visit Japan, it?s a real pain spending five weeks or so there and living for free courtesy of the in-laws but someone has to do it I suppose:)

Hello to all! I guess it's about time I made an official as opposed to a lurking appearance in here once and for all.

So, where to begin... Well, I'm 33, living in London with my wife and have been a gaming and gadget fiend for many, many years... well, since my parents bought me my first computer... an Acorn Electron. (Let me know when you've stopped laughing..., look at least I could play Elite... that's my argument about being cheated out of a BBC Micro... I blame the parents. Before then it was loads and loads of battery eating handheld/tabletop games systems like, Astro Wars and Scramble and Puc-Monster... yes, Puc-Monster). I've been through many a computer, (my main love being the Amiga), and many a console. One of my absolute console loves was my PC-Engine Turbo Duo, which I had converted so the card slot accepted both Japanese and US HuCards by 'ACE' that used to exist in Carnaby Street. My affair with this love of my life ended suddenly when I made the mistake, (which I still regret to this day...), of part exchanging it for a brand new imported Japanese PlayStation. Yes, I was in awe of my little grey box of Sony tricks, the leap from Amiga/SNES/Megadrive seemed absolutely incredible, but soon after completing Tekken and Ridge Racer for the umpteenth time found myself hankering after the joys of Y's, Gate Of Thunder and the one title I should never have parted with, my pristine copy of Dracula X... (Let me know when you've stopped making me feel like a fool...) :(
Don't get me wrong, I love the original PlayStation, and still have many a game in the cupboard waiting to be played, but trying to figure out a way of sharing my life between my wife, quality TV series, anime, movies and numerous PS1 RPGs with game lives of 50+ hours each is a bit of a nightmare... I'm sure some of you out there can relate to that... Or is it just me...? Or is it the wife? Bugger... did I just type that? Oops... (SLAP)

Anyway...

My next major love was the Dreamcast... oh, how I adored thee. Shenmue... Shenmue II... how I miss thee... ChuChu Rocket... Samba De Amigo...

Then the GameCube... a relationship full of joyful memories...

A relationship that ended after many years when something appeared in my home that never interested me, never grabbed me in any way and said, 'you need me, you really do', until a title called ICO appeared. I then begrudgingly fell in love with the system and became, again, an RPG fiend...

And then that system had to share my love with another system I had no interest in... until I saw 'Beyond Good and Evil' and 'Project Gotham Racing 2' running on it... and also because a friend of mine was leaving with his wife for Japan forever and let me have the whole kit and kaboodle with 10 games/live kit/3 controllers/dvd kit for ?150... (a deal like that I couldn't refuse... though it was the first PAL console to ever appear in my household).

And now, the PS2 has left... as has the Cube and the Dreamcast, though the Super Famicom and N64 still reside, and now share their love with the newest addition to the family, the XBOX 360...

Aside from the whole love of gaming, I'm a huge fan of Anime, (cute stuff to the real sinister stuff...), Movies, (US/Korean/Japanese of any genre pretty much), Music... (There's only one word to describe my collection : eclectic, so everything from Classical to Metal, from Hardcore Techno of the 80's and 90's to J-Pop, and from Soundtracks to Kylie...), Reading, (Stephen King, James Herbert, Matthew Reilly, Richard Morgan, J.M. Straczynski, H.G. Wells, H.P. Lovecraft...) and Writing...

I've also written a couple, er... or three, reviews for one site out there that is still up but no longer active, and still continue to write various bits and pieces to this day...

This is the first forum I have ever decided to join and thought I'd finally post something in here, even if I am a scaredy cat, posting in the 'welcome' thread. It seems like there's a really good mix of decent intelligent people in here.

So, now that I have bored you all to tears, if you really are that one twisted forum member who for some strange reason felt a sadistic need to read this post all the way to the end, (if you think this is bad, you should see my reviews!), or more likely the one who just jumped to the bottom of the post, I shall bid you farewell.

By the way, do I win a prize for posting the longest self-introduction post ever? ;o) (Trust me, this ain't nothin compared to the reviews I wrote... but people still read them though... lot of masochists out there I reckon... like you... yes, you... the one still reading this damn post... weirdo... tsk...)

Hmmm... don't know about the coffee, (though M&S single use filter thingies are the business...) or cocaine... (not my scene, but Sherbert tubes... now er're talking... hold on... even that sounds dubious...)... possibly it's all due to bombarding my brain with J-Pop whilst scoffing on Korean Onion Rings and Korean Cheesey Poofs helped down by copious amounts of Calpis.... Hmmm... Calpis....

Thanks for the welcome! :)

Send me a message if anyone wants to play Gears because I invested in a Live membership and should probaly use it.

Hello everyone,

I'm Adam, i'm 26 years old and I work as a Retail Manager and a Professional Wrestling commentator (although I tend to keep the last one quiet).

I was a long time lurker, reading mainly the retro forums and decided to sign up because I love the 'post everytime you get anything retro' thread, as I currently am spending way more money than i'm earning due to a horrible accident in my retro games room a few weeks ago.

Basically, I had a small electrical fire, causing over £2000 worth of damage (loss of Sony 32" CRT, which i'll never be able to replace, Sony laptop, W800i phone, Sega Saturn, Japanese N64, PAL Dreamcast, Neo-Geo CD, PC Engine Duo and a few other machines and LOADS of games). The insurance company said it was lucky my living room setup didn't catch fire, as losing a PS3 (and I quote) "would be much worse than losing all those old machines". I actually wanted to cry. And kill him. Dead.

So, as I now rush out buying things I had before and many things I didn't, I thought I might be able to contribute something to the forums along the way (plus, I do play new games too).

...so if anyone sees a PCE Duo/Duo-R/Duo-RX or Virtual Boy going cheap, spare this down on his luck man a thought.

...and after looking at your picture, you certainly look scary enough to be involved in wrestling. Take my job, you are clearly bigger than me :(

I commentate for 1PW.

Wow. 1PW, eh?

How could I get into that? I trained for a bit down with Mark Sloan a good few years back but gave up due to life commitments. I can cut a promo with the best of them, son.

Isn't it amazing the people you bump into on message boards? A trainee of Mark Sloan? Mark and many of his trainees wrestle on our shows. You should come down to the 1PW Academy (Sundays in Doncaster) if you want to take it back up, we have trainees at different levels of ability (some have been around for a couple of years) all trained by Keith Myatt and a wealth of guest trainers (including upcoming training with ROH and NOAH wrestler Nigel McGuiness).

If you're interesed, let me know, we often have open days. Who else was in your class when you trained?

I only attended a few sessions down in the Portsmouth gym. Flatliner was there one time (lol I genuinely believe he is insane), and a couple of other lads who went on to do reasonably well if I remember. I had hair when I was there, and wasn't as fat.

Sadly my in-ring days are probably over (at 27 - sobs). Plus I live in Saaarfhaaampton so my chances of a regular trip to Donny are slim, mate. Shame - Nigel Mcguinness is fricking awe-suurm.

I would be better in a managerial or colour commentary role I reckon. Hang on - you aren't that Anthony whotsit whatsit who does color, are you?

Nigel is indeed godlike.

You should find a school near you (and anyway, its never too late to train again, Batista didn't start until he was 30-odd), most offer some form of Manager training, no idea on the easy route to commentary however, I just sort of fell into it by accident. I'm also a heel manager, I manager current 1PW Openweight Champion James Wallace (the former Jay Phoenix).

You should come to 1PW Invincible, August 18th at the Doncaster Dome [/end plug], where McGuinness is facing Darren Burridge 2/3 falls. No, thankfully i'm not Anthony Kingdom James, he was released quite a while back.

LOL funny how people fall into things by accident, innit? I fell into being involved with videogames and this website by total accident after an impulse retro games purchase. Now I bloody write about games for magazines and stuff. But being involved in the wrasslin has always been an ambition of mine. You are a lucky man.

Hi Ronan!!

Get yourself on the Gamertag List (http://ntsc-uk.domino.org/showthread.php?t=30426&highlight=gamertag) and send out some invites as you've just got your 360 mate.

It does seem a little out of date at the moment but it's worth adding yourself.:thumb:

Well I better tell you a bit more about me. I started my forum days on Gamesradar before becoming head mod at GAMUFI. I also posted at frag dolls and my friend Vixens forum verses. Since the closure of GAMUFI I went back to GR for a while before my friend Jamie (mrkirov) mentioned what a fantastic bunch of chaps you lot are!

I have loved gaming from a early age and here are some of the consoles I have owened or at least all that I can rememeber (all in bold I still own)
Spectrum 128k, Commodore 64, Atari 2600, Nes, Snes, N64 (x2), Gamecube, Mastersystem, Megadrive, Mega CD, Dreamcast, Playstation, PS1 Lite, PS2, PS2 Lite, Xbox, Xbox 360, Gameboy, Gameboy Advanced, DS, DS Lite, Gamegear, PSP, Atari Lynx

I did some time working for the official playstation magazine about 11-12 years ago but I spend most of my time walking over to Edge magazine and playing Mario 64 on their N64 which was a year before the UK release

Hi folks,

Been reading the forum for a while now and thought the beginning of a new year was a good time to join in.:)

I'm Mark and I live in the friendly city of Glasgow. Been gaming for more years than I care to remember and have the following machines: spectrum +2, megadrive, snes, n64, saturn (both PAL and JPN), ps2, xbox, gamecube, and 360.

Only NTSC console I own is my beloved white Saturn, only really been interested in importing games for it, just love the 2D fighters available!

Have had the 360 for a while now but only just signed up for Live at the beginning of this week, boy have I missed out.

Anyways, thought I'd say hello and see you on Live sometime.

Hi Mark!:D

Have you added you Tag to the Gamertag List (http://ntsc-uk.domino.org/showthread.php?t=30426&highlight=live+tag) list yet? That'll get you invited by loads of people on her.

If you're a big online gamer, which I'm not:hmm:, have a look at the Online Gaming/Challenges (http://ntsc-uk.domino.org/forumdisplay.php?f=12) section to get involved in some Live games.

You may have known about those things already but thought it was worth mentioning...

I've been posting my way round this forum for a while, it moves so fast compared with other forums I've been on in the past, lots of members! so I figured it was finally time I made some sort of introduction, lol.

I'm Shana, almost 21, currently living in the west midlands due to going to Uni there. I like gaming (obviously, lol), going to the gym, karate lessons, bright clothes, cats, anime and so on.

I've got a fair few consoles, own two PS2's, one NTSC US one and a UK one as next to no RPG's get released over here. I'd like to learn Japanese as well so I could play all of the cool RPG's/Anime games that they have but I'm not quite sure how to go about doing that ><. Have a few older consoles, N64, DC, Xbox although my only current gen console is the Xbox 360, want a Wii but it doesnt really have that many games at the moment, same with PS3 really.

Hi,

I've lurked for quite a while. Great forum, I obtained lots of useful info from here, and it seems a lot more friendly than a lot of gaming communities.

I've owned most of the consoles released over the last 20 years, faves being the Dreamcast, PC Engine and Megadrive.

Also located in the West Mids, no arcades- : (

Hi all, been lurking here for a while so I thought I'd join your band of merry men & women. I discovered this forum a while back whilst on the Retro Gamer forum. I'm 28, Australian, and have been gaming for around 22 years. I've owned my fair share of consoles over time and most recently own a DS and Wii, having great fun with both. Fave genres are shmups, 2D fighters and platformers.

Hi I'm a n00b. Some of you may know me, hopefully nobody wishes they didn't. I intend to do a little trading here but not until after I've got a bit better known and gone through the standard n00b razzing.
