    Are SNES pads universal?

Would a PAL Super Nintendo pad work on my US SNES?
Don't look at me, I'm irrelevant.

They do, though I've found many US SNES pads don't work on PAL machines for whatever reason.

US and JPN pads dont work on PAL machines, any pad will work on US and JPN machines..

The PAL machines are wired only to accept PAL pads. Its quite easy to alter them to accept any region pad..

sorry if this is off topic, but would a Genisis 6 button official pad work on a non modded pal megadrive console?

Megadrive pads seem to be universal afaik. It's only Nintendo that scums PAL users up.

Theres no official Sega pad for the Megadrive with turbo functions.. not 6 button AFAIK.. its probably a pirate, you'll find out when you open it up and theres zero sega branding inside.

AFAIK GamersGear sells these pirates as Sega originals..

Yeh, zero branding and a glop-top inside so you can't even pull out the chip and use it for something else, something I found out when I wanted to sacrifice a third-party pad for a project.
