    Skins (E4)

Got to be the most advertised program ever, from the same people who brought us Shameless.

Nice basic idea, follow a group of teenagers and find out what it's like to be a young 'un today. Could be very entertaining or complete cr*p.
Think it's a E4 exclusive for now. I'll be tuning in, sure it's on at 10pm.

The main dude is the boy from About a Boy, that really really cack film with Hugh Grant trying to get his leg over as a single dad

Well I used to hang out with a bunch of young'uns a few years ago. We used to get trollied on a Friday and twat about all night! I recommend camcorders for capturing the most bizzare moments.

But when I see the trailers for Skins I don't believe it. We used to consume silly amount of booze before going out and then come back so utterly chemically enhanced and we never ever had any of us dressed as a bear! We did used to wear things around to the 24 hour garage though. Elvis shades and 'burns' were always amusing as was myself and Darren's fetish for putting on our partner's dresses. One of the girls passed out once so we filmed her up close with Darren hid out of shot making really loud snoring noises. She still can't believe she snores like that. And we played the Big Double Decker Bus once too. I won't go into that though as I still don't quite get it.

Either way, Skins looks like it may be ok. Shameless has always been good but it does have one exceptional character that elevates it. Wait and see.

Edit: Also played the catalogue game too. Donna's choice. It was ****. Everyone else got to be curtains 'n' ****. I was getting things like 'bathroom cabinet' and 'scart lead'. Not fun in the slightest.

Thank you! No wonder I couldn't place him...

Based on its debut episode it looks like all hype and no trousers, unfortunately.
Only two laugh out loud moments in the whole episode and a jarring cameo by Harry Enfield.

I thought this was utter ****, from the few minutes I could stand of this it just looked like spotty teens burping, farting and getting pissed

Also im not sure if anyone else agrees but I found something slightly distrubing with the way this program appears to glamourise teenage sex, maybe im getting to old. I just thought it was the kinda thing a dirty old man would get off on watching.

I was busy putting together a wardrobe while it was on (don't ask) so wasn't paying 100% attention, did laugh at a couple of bits, never expected it to live up to the hype C4/E4 has put upon it tbh, will tune in next week tho'

Thought it glamourised teenage sex less than Hollyoaks, tbh. There were a couple of funny moments, to be fair. Not bothered if I never watch it again though.

Thought it was ****e for the first quarter, but stayed with it & thought it was ok. Probably a grower, more female nakedness will help it no end!

I have got a promo of this from the other halfs work which included last nights episode as well as next weeks one too.

Not that I want to spoil it for anyone, but the second episode is worse than the first. Its a shame because it could have been so much better.

Probably a laugh for 14year olds, but luckily, I'm past all that.

It does look bad though. A bunch of drama students pretending to be wild teens. It never works, and this looks embarassing.

I'm not into all these things that are supposed to embrace real life cultural trends. They always seem pretentious, and most of all sensationlist.

Only old people think youth culture changes. It's still the same old thing. Getting off with people, driving cars fast, and drinking too much. It'll be the same in 3007. People seem to forget their teenage years.

Anyone (apart from me) still watching this ? I watched episodes four and five last night (the latest two). First half of episode four had me laughing out loud - it's the one with all the viagra tie-ins.

Juvenile comedy but made me laugh.

Yes mate - I am still watching this and really enjoying it too.

I thought that 4th episode was very good, with Chris and his spot of bother with his mum/house/teacher etc. I like Sid's character as well - shame he's so oblivious to Cassie as I don't think Michelle is all that, really.

I'm still watching it as well, a few episodes have been crap though i have to say. The 4th episode and 5th episodes have been better though.
