Perhaps the first licensed game in a good long time that's actually pretty good?
Just had a play of this today, it's wonderfully colourful and although the controls aren't quite as fluid as I'd like, it's fun to play and looks fantastic. The Xbox version (I'm using a Canadian one) is presented in 480p and is region locked. The back cover of the Canuck version has some bilingual text, but luckily there's none on the front... it doesn't say "Le Estrange Noel Du Monsieur Jack" or anything
The voice acting is pretty good, it's easy to tell that it's not the original actors (or if it is, they've slacked off a little bit), but it still feels like a Tim Burton world. The gameplay style reminds me a little bit of Maximo, which isn't too surprising seeing as both of these games were developed by Capcom. I don't agree with IGN's 6/10 score - a 7 or 8 will probably be more right if you ask me.
Why the Western box art is so amateurish compared to the Japanese one though, I don't understand. Europe gets the original box art, lucky you. Pick it up!
