Had a go on the shareware version of this.
It's a bit like geometry wars, except you just use the mouse. Your bullets just autofire at the nearest object. Pressing a mouse button does a special attack (smart bomb style).
Using the mouse seemed very weird at first. As did not aiming the bullets. I got into after a while though. Needed to adjust sensitivity.
It's very colourful - almost too colourful, with effects showered on everything at all times.
You pick up stars to power up - every 25 stars takes you to the next level and a counter shows you how many to go to the next level, but when you do, the indication of what you've powered up to is at the bottom of the screen - tbh, there's a whole bunch of info around the edge of the screen, but the action is so intense, it's very difficult to take your eyes off the center of the screen where all the action happens. So I found it a bit confusing to compare how well I was doing when compared to previous goes.
Whilst I'm enjoying it at the moment, I think the simplistic control (just move the mouse to avoid stuff basically) will quickly become too non-involving and leave me cold.
