The AR has an almost iconic noise, this might be why the videos were making me think of Halo 1 come to think of it.

I love this talk of its not finished ect , next to nobody said that onthe Sonic The Hedghog demo, Alpha code and what have you went out of the window then, as it seems to do when a PS3 game looks poor , even if its early code .
I wouldn't mind beating that becasue this is game people care so much about, does the 'Alpha', beta code comes into it . Nobody is saying BUNGiE can't or won't turn it around, but its not looking that great at the mo. What is so wrong with people saying that, even if it happens to be the mighty HALO .
You want to compare HALO III to a game that' s also still far from done , well what about Unreal Tournament III. There's a game thats not due till the fall , has to worry about onlineplay , big battles and Vehicles ect, yet looks far beyond HALO III and its running a multi platform 3rd party game engine , Brother In Arms HH looks beter better too and thats far from done .
I like to know why BUNGiE can make the HALO III E3 tralier look nice, when that it's self must have been running on alpha code seeing as it was May of last year , yet every vid , demo shown after the E3 2006 vid looks far worse

Back on top anyway, looks like they've built a warning beep into the warthog and mongoose. Whenever you approach a mine or you get targetted by that mini pod launcher, you'll hear this very cautious and frequent beep going on. Very useful considering that hte rockets on the mini pod launcher are slow so you have a chance to react. It actually saved my life as I managed to jump out of the warthog turrent and as I jumped away I saw the warthog explode towards me.

Thanks for all the impressions Leone, taking my hype to an even higher level. Can't wait for Wednesday now, just disapointed that I'm not going to be able to spend as much time with the beta as I'd like to.
In the 2nd vid on xboxyde.com on snowbound I presume, it looks like the grenades bed into the snow when they are thrown, is that actually what happens, or am I seeing things ?
How many maps are in the beta, 3 ?
Have to say unlike some on here I was actually surprised by the graphical quality in the 720P video's I've seen. I've certainly got no concerns there !
Uli, I like you and many others I'm sure love the Halo CE assault rifle, I would use it continually throughout the campaign as I liked it so much, even though most of those times a different weapon would of been much better. To me the problem with the assault rifle of Halo 1 was that it lacked power and had a tremendous spray on it, so 50% of your shots probably missed there target. It seems that they have tackled that prob in three making it allot more powerfull and accurate, and to me if all of your shots now hit the reduction of clip size is a non issue. You can see the improvements in all the vids, with people being taken down within one clip without much trouble at all, and if a clip reduction does mean that every other time it needs to be complimented with a melee or grenade to secure the kill, then that is a good thing to me, as it makes the kill all the more satisfying !!!!!
edit : One more quezzie : Is 3 weeks enough then after 2 days play ? Is it going to be possible to go back to 2 for 5 months once the beta finishes >_<Last edited by Simmy; 13-05-2007, 09:41.

3 maps in the beta .. fair few game modes too. I've just been downloading peoples demo's this morning to see how others play etc. Very cool tool. It's weird - something that a lot of us were doing back in the quake days recording demo's of matches seems to fresh and new on a console - even though it's an incredibly ancient idea.
Hell - just from watching some recordings of myself playing yesterday I can see where I can move better and have better awareness in certain pockets of the maps where the action kicks off.
The one great thing about this is that it's a beta and you know they're going to be taking gamers feedback on board as there are still months of development time left to polish / tweak what's needed. It's not like releasing a half arsed demo which is rubbish only for people to think they're going to ' polish it ' with 2 weeks before retail.Last edited by reektan; 13-05-2007, 09:57.

but i guess even if our "nailers" at Bungie messed around with weapon balance stuff in the campaign it wont keep me from enjoying Halo 3 - not as long as the level and mission design comes close to the Silent Cartographer!

Okay, I mentioned before that how assault and how you arm the bomb works different in Halo 3. Like how you arm the bomb and then the other team have 15 seconds to dearm it. I can tell you guys that as soon as you walk into the bomb area, its armed straight away. Which means if you're far away youve got some running to do. Looks like it takes 4-5 seocnds to disarm it but not so sure.
Also, this demo is incomplete! There is no reloading animation whne you're on the passenger seat on the mongoose! Worst game ava!
Edit: I actually think the needler is too powerful now, who would of thought the day when in Halo the needler is actually too powereful? Anyway, still work in process, yada yada yada, needs to be toned down slightly.Last edited by El Leone; 13-05-2007, 13:53.

Yes I'm getting more bitter by the hour.
The bomb thing sounds very counter strike to me, guess it adds an element to assault though. I always prefered fast bomb or what ever it's called tbh.
